  4. Monitor and track documentation compliance to identify areas for improvement.
  5. Conduct training and education for healthcare providers on proper documentation practices.
  6. Stay current on industry standards and regulations related to clinical documentation.
  7. Communicate with coding and billing teams to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve documentation processes.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information.
  10. Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive patient care.
  11. Provide support and guidance to healthcare providers on documentation best practices.
  12. Utilize coding guidelines and clinical knowledge to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
  13. Perform audits to ensure compliance with documentation standards.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to improve documentation processes and efficiency.
  15. Serve as a resource for healthcare providers regarding documentation requirements and standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Healthcare And Medical Terminology Is Essential For A Clinical Documentation Specialist, And A Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or A Related Field Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills.

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (Ccds) Credential: Tenet Healthcare May Require Applicants For This Role To Hold A Ccds Credential, Which Demonstrates Proficiency In Clinical Documentation Improvement And Knowledge Of Coding Guidelines.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Clinical Documentation Improvement: Tenet Healthcare May Prefer Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Clinical Documentation Improvement, As This Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of The Role And Its Responsibilities.

  • Knowledge Of Coding And Reimbursement Systems: A Clinical Documentation Specialist At Tenet Healthcare Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Coding And Reimbursement Systems, Such As Icd-10 And Cpt, To Accurately Review And Improve Clinical Documentation.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Requires Collaboration With Various Healthcare Professionals, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Coding Staff. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Building Relationships And Effectively Communicating With Team Members.
