Job Description

Welcome to Tenet Healthcare! We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Life Fellow to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of our young patients. As a Child Life Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced Child Life Specialists and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting. We are looking for someone with a passion for working with children and families, as well as a strong desire to learn and grow within the field of Child Life. If you are a motivated individual with the required qualifications and a warm and caring demeanor, we want to hear from you!

  1. Provide emotional support and promote coping strategies for pediatric patients and their families during their hospital stay.
  2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Plan and facilitate play and recreational activities to promote normalization and developmentally appropriate experiences for patients.
  4. Advocate for the unique needs of pediatric patients and educate families on resources and services available.
  5. Attend and actively participate in team meetings, trainings, and workshops to advance knowledge and skills in Child Life.
  6. Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and progress towards treatment goals.
  7. Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities to stay current in the field of Child Life.
  8. Build positive relationships with patients, families, and staff to create a supportive and welcoming environment.
  9. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care and maintain confidentiality.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to quality care and excellence in all job duties.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or Related Field From An Accredited University.

  • Completion Of A Child Life Internship Program, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Certification As A Child Life Specialist (Ccls) From The Association Of Child Life Professionals (Aclp).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working As A Child Life Specialist In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Child Development, Family Dynamics, And Coping Strategies For Children And Families Facing Medical Challenges.
