  1. Assist in surgical procedures: The certified surgical technician will be responsible for providing assistance to the surgical team during labor and delivery procedures. This includes preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and passing surgical instruments to the surgeon.
  2. Monitor patient safety and comfort: The surgical technician will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of the patient during the surgical procedure.   • Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technology Program: A Certified Surgical Technician - Labor And Delivery Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Surgical Technology, Which Typically Includes Coursework In Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, And Sterile Techniques.

  • Certification As A Surgical Technologist: Tenet Healthcare Requires That All Certified Surgical Technicians - Labor And Delivery Hold A Current Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa). This Certification Ensures That The Technician Has Met National Standards For Knowledge And Skills In Surgical Technology.
