  1. Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment specific to labor and delivery procedures.
  2. Prepare and set up surgical equipment and instruments for labor and delivery procedures.
  3. Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and following proper sterilization protocols.
  4. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing necessary supplies and instruments in a timely manner.
  5. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other team members to ensure efficient and safe delivery of care.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in a variety of surgical techniques, procedures, and equipment.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all procedures and patient information.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the health and safety of patients and staff.
  9. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on advancements in surgical technology and techniques.
  10. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during labor and delivery procedures.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care.
  12. Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technician Program: A Certified Surgical Technician Working In Labor And Delivery At Tenet Healthcare Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Surgical Technology, Which Includes Hands-On Training And Classroom Instruction.

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential: Candidates Must Have Earned The Cst Credential Through The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa) To Be Considered For The Position. This Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Met The Necessary Educational And Competency Standards To Work As A Surgical Technician.

  • Experience In Labor And Delivery: Tenet Healthcare Requires Candidates To Have Experience Working In A Labor And Delivery Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Surgical Center. This Experience Should Include Assisting With Cesarean Sections, Fetal Monitoring, And Other Procedures Commonly Performed In This Specialty.

  • Knowledge Of Sterile Techniques And Infection Control: Certified Surgical Technicians Are Responsible For Maintaining A Sterile Environment In The Operating Room. Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Sterile Techniques And Infection Control Protocols To Ensure The Safety Of Patients And Staff.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment: The Labor And Delivery Unit At Tenet Healthcare Can Be A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment, With Emergencies And Unexpected Complications Arising At Any Time. Candidates Must Be Able To Remain Calm Under Pressure And Work Efficiently In A Team Setting To Ensure The Best Possible Outcomes For Patients.
