Assist in prepping and positioning patients for surgical procedures.
Set up and maintain sterile fields and equipment for surgeries.
Anticipate and provide necessary instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient surgical experience for patients.
Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment.
Assist with patient transport before and after surgery.
Document and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and supplies used.
Stay current on advancements in surgical technology and techniques.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during surgical procedures.
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols in the operating room.
Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times.
Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all job duties.

Job Qualifications

Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technology Program: A Certified Surgical Technician At Tenet Healthcare Must Have Completed A Formal Program In Surgical Technology From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received The Necessary Training And Education To Perform The Duties Of A Surgical Technician.
Current Certification As A Surgical Technologist: Candidates Must Hold A Current Certification As A Surgical Technologist From A Recognized Certifying Agency, Such As The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa). This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The National Standards For Competency And Professionalism In The Field.
Experience In A Hospital Setting: Tenet Healthcare Seeks Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Hospital Setting. This Experience Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment Of A Surgical Department And Can Handle The Demands Of The Job.
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: A Certified Surgical Technician At Tenet Healthcare Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Procedures And The Equipment Used In The Operating Room. This Includes Knowledge Of Sterile Techniques, Surgical Instruments, And Surgical Technology.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Role Of A Surgical Technician At Tenet Healthcare Requires Working Closely With The Surgical Team, Including Surgeons, Nurses, And Anesthesiologists. Therefore, Candidates Must Possess Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills To Ensure The Efficient And Safe Delivery Of Patient Care In The Operating Room.
