- Portray a patient with specific medical conditions for students to practice on.
- Provide feedback and evaluation on students' performance.
- Collaborate with faculty and other standardized patients to ensure consistency in patient portrayal.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- Accurately portray a patient's physical and emotional state.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and other standardized patients.
- Assist in the development and implementation of simulation scenarios.
- Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor at all times.
- Attend training and development sessions as required.
- Observe and adhere to all university policies and procedures.
- Act as a representative of Temple University's Podiatric Medicine program.
- Continuously improve and refine acting skills to provide realistic and effective patient portrayal.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of student interactions and assessment results.
- Attend and participate in meetings and debriefings with faculty and students.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for students.
- Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement strategies for student learning and improvement.
- Serve as a resource for students regarding patient interactions and communication skills.
- Contribute to the overall success and growth of the Podiatric Medicine program at Temple University.
Experience In Podiatric Medicine: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Strong Background In Podiatric Medicine, Including Knowledge Of Common Conditions And Treatments, As Well As An Understanding Of The Podiatric Medical Education Program At Temple University.
Excellent Communication Skills: Standardized Patients Play A Crucial Role In Teaching And Evaluating Podiatric Students, So Strong Communication Skills Are A Must. Candidates Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Students, Faculty, And Staff In A Professional Manner.
Flexibility And Adaptability: This Role May Require The Standardized Patient To Portray A Variety Of Different Patient Scenarios, Which May Include Physical Examinations, Diagnostic Tests, Or Medical Histories. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Comfortable Adapting To Different Scenarios And Providing Feedback To Students.
Reliable And Punctual: Standardized Patients Are Expected To Adhere To A Strict Schedule And Must Be Reliable In Fulfilling Their Role. Punctuality Is Key, As Students Rely On Standardized Patients To Be Present For Their Scheduled Appointments.
Ability To Provide Constructive Feedback: As Part Of The Evaluation Process, Standardized Patients Are Expected To Provide Feedback To Students On Their Performance. Candidates Should Have The Ability To Provide Constructive Criticism In A Professional And Positive Manner.
