  1. Develop and implement strategic communication plans to enhance Temple University's brand and reputation.
  2. Serve as the primary point of contact for all media relations inquiries and proactively pitch stories to local, national, and international media outlets.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts, including journalists, editors, and producers.
  4. Monitor media coverage and identify opportunities to promote Temple University and its initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and develop newsworthy stories and initiatives.
  6. Write and edit press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials.
  7. Coordinate and manage media events, including press conferences, media briefings, and interviews.
  8. Act as a spokesperson for the university, providing timely and accurate responses to media inquiries.
  9. Train and prepare university staff and faculty for media interviews and appearances.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in public relations and media relations.
  11. Provide guidance and support to junior members of the communications team.
  12. Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
  13. Monitor and respond to online reviews and comments to protect and enhance the university's image.
  14. Represent the university at community events and conferences.
  15. Continuously evaluate and measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and make recommendations for improvement.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In University Communications And Media Relations, Preferably In A Leadership Or Management Role.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Or A Related Field.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Developing And Implementing Strategic Communication Plans For A Large University Or Similar Organization.

  • Excellent Writing And Editing Skills, With The Ability To Craft Compelling Messages For Various Audiences And Platforms.

  • Experience Managing A Team And Collaborating With Cross-Functional Departments, Such As Marketing, Digital Media, And Public Affairs.
