- Oversee a team of skilled plumbers and ensure their adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Plan, assign, and review work of plumbing staff to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
- Train and mentor new plumbing staff, as well as provide ongoing training and development for current team members.
- Maintain inventory of plumbing supplies and equipment and ensure proper usage and storage.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate plumbing projects and minimize disruptions to campus operations.
- Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies and provide effective solutions to resolve issues.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of plumbing systems to ensure they are functioning properly and identify any potential issues.
- Keep accurate records of work orders, completed projects, and maintenance schedules.
- Develop and implement cost-effective strategies to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of plumbing operations.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in plumbing technology and techniques.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
- Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Communicate regularly with campus community regarding plumbing projects and address any concerns or inquiries.
- Represent the Facilities Department in meetings and presentations related to plumbing operations.
- Adhere to all university policies and procedures, as well as local and federal regulations.
Extensive Experience In Plumbing: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working As A Plumber, With A Strong Understanding Of Plumbing Systems, Equipment, And Tools.
Leadership Skills: The Plumbing Shop Supervisor Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Plumbers And Other Staff Members. Therefore, They Should Possess Excellent Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Motivate Team Members, And Resolve Conflicts.
Knowledge Of Safety Regulations: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Regulations Related To Plumbing Work, Including Osha Guidelines. They Should Also Be Able To Ensure That All Work Is Completed In Compliance With These Regulations.
Communication And Organizational Skills: The Plumbing Shop Supervisor Will Need To Communicate With Various Departments And Individuals Within The University, As Well As External Contractors And Suppliers. They Should Have Strong Communication And Organizational Skills To Effectively Manage These Interactions.
