- Oversee all aspects of the jazz program, including curriculum development, student recruitment, and faculty hiring and training.

Advanced Knowledge And Understanding Of Jazz Music: A Successful Jazz Program Director At Temple University Must Possess A Deep Understanding Of Jazz Music, Its History, Styles, And Techniques. They Should Also Have A Strong Appreciation And Passion For The Genre.
Experience In Music Education And Program Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Experience In Teaching And/Or Managing A Music Program, Preferably At The College Level. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Developing And Implementing Successful Curriculum And Programs.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Jazz Program Director, The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Leadership And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Manage A Team Of Faculty, Staff, And Students. They Should Also Have Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Other Departments And Represent The Program To External Stakeholders.
Musical Proficiency And Performance Experience: The Jazz Program Director Should Be A Skilled Musician With A High Level Of Proficiency In Their Instrument(S) And A Strong Background In Jazz Performance. This Will Not Only Enhance Their Credibility As A Leader But Also Enable Them To Mentor And Guide Students Effectively.
