Temple University is seeking a skilled Horticulture Technician to join our team and help maintain our beautiful grounds and gardens.   1. Maintain and care for all plants, gardens, and green spaces on campus, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, and pest control.
  2. Utilize knowledge of horticulture practices to ensure the health and growth of all plants.
  3. Develop and implement sustainable gardening practices to promote environmental responsibility on campus.
  4. Work closely with the grounds team to coordinate and prioritize tasks.
  5. Create and maintain a plant inventory and record keeping system.
  6. Identify and diagnose plant diseases and implement appropriate treatment.
  7. Assist in the planning and execution of seasonal displays and events.
  8. Ensure that all gardening equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
  9. Communicate with campus community members, including students, faculty, and staff, to provide information and answer questions about horticulture practices.
  10. Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in horticulture to continually improve campus grounds.
  11. Collaborate with other departments to integrate horticulture into campus sustainability initiatives.
  12. Train and supervise student workers and volunteers in horticulture techniques.
  13. Participate in special projects and initiatives related to campus beautification and sustainability efforts.
  14. Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations while performing job duties.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing Temple University to the campus community and visitors.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Horticulture Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Horticultural Maintenance And Operations

  • Ability To Operate And Maintain Equipment, Such As Tractors, Mowers, And Hand Tools
