- Provide high-quality dental care to patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Assist dentists during procedures, including but not limited to, fillings, extractions, and root canals.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, perform intraoral and extraoral imaging.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and cleanliness.
- Provide patient education on oral care and hygiene.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.
- Work collaboratively with other dental professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients and colleagues, promoting a welcoming and comfortable environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining inventory of supplies.
- Uphold the ethical and professional standards of the dental profession.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient satisfaction and strive to exceed their expectations.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by Temple University's Dental Clinic.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the clinic director.
Completion Of An Accredited Efda Program: Candidates For The Efda Position At Temple University Must Have Completed An Accredited Efda Program, Which Typically Includes Courses In Dental Anatomy, Radiology, And Oral Health.
State Certification And Licensing: In Addition To Completing An Efda Program, Candidates Must Hold A Valid State Certification And License To Practice As An Efda. This Ensures That They Have Met The Necessary Requirements And Have The Appropriate Knowledge And Skills To Perform Expanded Functions.
Clinical Experience: Temple University Requires Candidates To Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience As An Efda. This Ensures That They Have A Strong Understanding Of Dental Procedures And Are Able To Perform Expanded Functions With Confidence And Accuracy.
Knowledge Of Dental Software And Technology: Efda Candidates Should Be Familiar With Common Dental Software And Technology Used In Dental Offices. This Includes Knowledge Of Electronic Health Records, Digital Radiography, And Dental Imaging Software.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Efda Candidates Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills In Order To Effectively Interact With Patients, Dentists, And Other Members Of The Dental Team. This Includes The Ability To Explain Procedures To Patients, Answer Questions, And Provide Compassionate Care.
