Job Description

As a Driver at Temple University, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students, faculty, and staff to various locations on and off campus.   1. Operate university-owned vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
  2. Transport students, faculty, and staff to designated locations on and off campus.
  3. Adhere to predetermined schedules and routes to ensure timely arrival and departure.
  4. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition.
  5. Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the transportation supervisor.
  6. Maintain accurate records of mileage, routes, and passenger counts.
  7. Provide excellent customer service to all passengers, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience.
  8. Assist passengers with loading and unloading of luggage and belongings.
  9. Communicate effectively with the transportation team to coordinate schedules and address any issues.
  10. Adhere to all university policies and procedures, including those related to safety and vehicle operation.
  11. Attend regular safety and training sessions to stay updated on university and state regulations.
  12. Represent Temple University in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle at all times.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the transportation supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Cdl With Passenger And Air Brake Endorsements, Issued By The State Of Pennsylvania.

  • Clean Driving Record: The Candidate Must Have A Clean Driving Record With No Major Violations Or Accidents In The Past 3 Years.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Driving Large Commercial Vehicles, Preferably In A University Or Institutional Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Regulations: The Candidate Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Dot And Fmcsa Safety Regulations And Be Able To Comply With Them At All Times.

  • Customer Service Skills: The Candidate Must Have Excellent Customer Service Skills And Be Able To Interact Professionally With Students, Faculty, And Staff On A Daily Basis.
