You will oversee all aspects of student financial aid, including scholarships, grants, and loans, and provide guidance and assistance to students navigating the complex financial aid process.   1. Develop and implement strategic plans and policies for student financial aid and support services in alignment with the mission and values of the Lewis Katz School of Medicine.
  2. Oversee and manage all aspects of student financial aid, including scholarships, grants, and loans, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  3. Provide guidance and assistance to students in navigating the financial aid process, including advising on available resources and options for funding their education.
  4. Collaborate with various departments, including admissions, academic affairs, and student services, to enhance the overall student experience and ensure seamless integration of financial aid and support services.
  5. Lead a team of financial aid professionals, providing direction, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective operation of the financial aid office.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and agencies to secure additional funding opportunities for students.
  7. Stay up-to-date with changes in financial aid policies and regulations, and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
  8. Monitor and analyze financial aid data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to senior leadership.
  9. Promote diversity and inclusion within the student body by advocating for equal access to financial aid and support services for all students.
  10. Represent the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in professional organizations and conferences related to student financial aid and support services.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Financial Aid Policies And Regulations: A Qualified Director Of Student Financial Aid And Support Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Federal, State, And Institutional Financial Aid Regulations And Be Able To Effectively Navigate And Interpret Complex Policies.

  • Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As The Head Of The Financial Aid Office, The Director Should Possess Excellent Leadership And Management Skills To Effectively Oversee A Team Of Financial Aid Professionals And Ensure Efficient And Effective Delivery Of Services To Students.

  • Experience With Student Financial Aid Systems And Software: The Director Should Have Experience Working With Student Financial Aid Systems And Software, Such As Banner, Peoplesoft, Or Powerfaids. This Will Ensure The Smooth Operation Of The Financial Aid Office And Accurate Processing Of Student Aid.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Director Will Interact With A Diverse Group Of Students, Parents, Faculty, And Staff, And Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Address Their Needs, Concerns And Provide Guidance On Financial Aid Matters.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Education And Financial Aid For Graduate Students: The Lewis Katz School Of Medicine At Temple University Offers Graduate Programs, And The Director Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Financial Aid Needs And Challenges Faced By Medical Students, Including Knowledge Of Loans, Scholarships, And Other Funding Opportunities Specific To The Field Of Medicine.
