- Conduct thorough and detailed investigations into criminal activity or incidents on campus.
- Work closely with other members of the Campus Safety and Security team, as well as local law enforcement agencies, to gather and analyze information related to criminal activity.
- Use a variety of investigative techniques, including surveillance, interviews, and evidence collection, to gather information and build cases.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all investigations and submit timely reports to superiors.
- Stay up-to-date on all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to campus safety and security.
- Collaborate with other departments and organizations on campus to develop and implement strategies for preventing and responding to potential threats or criminal activity.
- Provide support and assistance to victims of crime on campus, including offering resources and referrals to appropriate services.
- Attend regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance investigative skills and knowledge.
- Serve as a liaison between the department and external agencies, such as local law enforcement and legal authorities.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Monitor and review campus security cameras and other surveillance equipment.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Act as a resource and provide guidance to other members of the Campus Safety and Security team.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the job.
- Uphold the values and mission of Temple University and the Department of Campus Safety and Security in all job duties.
Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice Or Related Field
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement, With Experience In Detective Work Preferred
Strong Investigative And Analytical Skills
Knowledge Of Investigative Techniques And Procedures, Including Evidence Collection And Preservation
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Populations And Handle Sensitive Situations With Tact And Diplomacy.
