Job Description

Temple University is seeking a highly qualified and passionate Dental Hygienist/Coordinator to join our dynamic team.   1. Provide high-quality dental hygiene services to patients of all ages, including students, staff, and members of the community.
  2. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide individualized recommendations for maintaining good oral health.
  3. Perform comprehensive dental assessments, including taking and developing x-rays, charting and recording patient information, and identifying and assessing potential oral health issues.
  4. Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation as needed and in accordance with state regulations.
  5. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including performing dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, and other preventative measures.
  6. Monitor and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all information.
  7. Collaborate with other dental professionals in the clinic to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  8. Serve as a liaison between the dental clinic and other departments within the university, communicating and coordinating patient care as needed.
  9. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and techniques in dental hygiene and incorporate them into daily practice.
  10. Assist in the training and supervision of dental hygiene students, providing guidance and support in their clinical education.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following infection control and safety protocols.
  12. Participate in community outreach programs and events to promote oral health and education.
  13. Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, ensuring efficient and effective use of clinic resources.
  14. Collaborate with insurance companies and third-party payers to process claims and ensure proper billing procedures.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Temple University and the dental clinic, promoting a positive and professional image.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Dental Hygiene Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current State License To Practice As A Dental Hygienist.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A University Or Academic Environment.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Diverse Populations, Including Students, Faculty, And Staff.

  • Familiarity With Electronic Medical Records And Dental Software Systems.
