  1. Provide high-quality veterinary care to research animals at Temple University.
  2. Collaborate with a diverse team of individuals to ensure the health and well-being of all animals.
  3. Perform routine health checks, diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries, and monitor anesthesia during procedures.
  4. Develop and implement animal care and welfare policies in accordance with federal regulations and institutional guidelines.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all animals.
  6. Participate in the design and implementation of research projects involving animals.
  7. Provide guidance and training to research staff on proper animal handling and care techniques.
  8. Stay up-to-date on current advancements and best practices in laboratory animal medicine.
  9. Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
  10. Promote a culture of animal welfare and ethical treatment of animals within the research community.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe working environment for all animals in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards.
  12. Communicate effectively with researchers, staff, and other stakeholders on animal health and welfare matters.
  13. Participate in on-call and emergency duties as needed.
  14. Mentor and train veterinary students and residents in laboratory animal medicine.
  15. Contribute to the advancement of veterinary medicine through participation in conferences, seminars, and publications.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine (Dvm) Degree From An Accredited Veterinary School.

  • Licensure To Practice Veterinary Medicine In The State Of Pennsylvania.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Veterinarian In A Clinical Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge And Experience In Small Animal Medicine And Surgery.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Colleagues And Students.
