- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local civil rights laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote equal treatment and access for all individuals.
- Work closely with various departments to ensure their practices and procedures align with civil rights laws and regulations.
- Investigate and respond to complaints related to civil rights violations.
- Conduct training and workshops to educate the campus community on civil rights laws and regulations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and agencies related to civil rights compliance.
- Stay updated on changes to civil rights laws and regulations and advise the university on necessary updates or changes.
- Maintain records and documentation related to civil rights compliance activities.
- Collaborate with other campus departments to promote diversity and inclusivity initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
- Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement in civil rights compliance.
- Provide support and guidance to departments in developing and implementing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
- Serve as a resource for students, faculty, and staff on issues related to civil rights.
- Represent the university in external meetings and conferences related to civil rights compliance.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the university's efforts towards promoting diversity and inclusivity.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Law, Political Science, Or Public Policy.
At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Civil Rights Compliance, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws Related To Civil Rights, Such As Title Vi, Title Ix, And The Americans With Disabilities Act (Ada).
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Diverse Populations And Handle Sensitive Issues.
Ability To Conduct Thorough Investigations And Analyze Data To Ensure Compliance With Civil Rights Laws And Regulations.
