- Plan and execute strategic university events, including but not limited to commencement ceremonies, conferences, lectures, and alumni events.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure the success of events and align with the overall goals and mission of the university.
- Develop event concepts, themes, and agendas to showcase the excellence of the institution and engage attendees.
- Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts, and coordinate logistics such as venue selection, catering, transportation, and audio-visual needs.
- Lead and mentor a team of event staff and volunteers to ensure a high level of service and professionalism.
- Utilize project management skills to oversee all aspects of event planning, including timelines, task delegation, and communication with stakeholders.
- Utilize event planning software and tools to streamline processes and manage event details efficiently.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective event planning.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve event planning strategies and execution.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all attendees, including handling inquiries, issues, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure events are in compliance with all university policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Participate in post-event evaluations and make recommendations for future events based on feedback and data analysis.
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and promotional strategies to increase event attendance.
- Serve as a representative of Temple University at events and maintain a positive image and reputation of the institution.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President of University Events to develop and maintain strategic goals and objectives for the office.
Bachelor's Degree In Event Planning, Marketing, Communications, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Event Planning And Execution, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Proven Track Record Of Managing And Executing Large-Scale Events With A High Level Of Attention To Detail And Organization.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills With The Ability To Collaborate And Coordinate With Various Stakeholders, Including Senior Leadership, Faculty, Staff, And External Partners.
Proficient In Event Management Software And Tools, With A Strong Understanding Of Event Marketing And Promotion Strategies.
