The School of Pharmacy at Temple University is seeking an Assistant Dean of Development & Alumni Relations to join our dynamic team.   1. Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising and development strategies to meet the School of Pharmacy's philanthropic goals.
  2. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with alumni and donors to foster a culture of giving and philanthropy within the School of Pharmacy community.
  3. Actively identify and engage potential donors and supporters through targeted outreach and relationship building efforts.
  4. Create and manage fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to maximize donor engagement and support.
  5. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including faculty and staff, to identify funding priorities and develop compelling cases for support.
  6. Create and manage a robust donor stewardship program to recognize and cultivate ongoing support from donors.
  7. Develop and maintain a comprehensive donor database and utilize data analytics to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making.
  8. Serve as a liaison between the School of Pharmacy and the Temple University development team, coordinating efforts and ensuring alignment with overall university goals and strategies.
  9. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in development and fundraising to continuously improve and refine strategies.
  10. Represent the School of Pharmacy at events and conferences to promote and advance the school's development goals.
  11. Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Marketing & Communications to develop and implement effective communication strategies for donor relations and fundraising efforts.
  12. Manage a team of development and alumni relations staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  13. Prepare and present regular reports on development progress and outcomes to senior leadership.
  14. Maintain a strong understanding of the School of Pharmacy's mission, programs, and impact to effectively communicate and advocate for philanthropic support.

Job Qualifications
  • Higher Education Experience: A Successful Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience Working In A Development Or Alumni Relations Role Within A Higher Education Institution, Preferably In A Pharmacy School Setting.

  • Fundraising Expertise: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Soliciting Major Gifts From Individual Donors, Corporations, And Foundations. They Should Also Have A Strong Understanding Of Fundraising Best Practices And Strategies.

  • Communication And Relationship Building Skills: The Assistant Dean Of Development & Alumni Relations Will Be Responsible For Cultivating And Maintaining Relationships With Alumni, Faculty, Staff, And Donors. Therefore, Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships Are Essential Qualifications.

  • Knowledge Of Pharmaceutical Industry: To Effectively Engage With Alumni And Potential Donors, The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Pharmaceutical Industry And Its Current Trends, Challenges, And Opportunities.

  • Leadership Experience: As A Senior Member Of The Development And Alumni Relations Team, The Assistant Dean Should Have Previous Experience Managing A Team And Leading Fundraising Initiatives. They Should Also Have The Ability To Provide Strategic Direction And Collaborate With Other Departments Within The University.
