Network Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join Swisscom’s IT team. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical knowledge and experience with network systems and protocols. The position requires excellent problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 5 years of professional experience in network engineering. You must also have hands-on experience with network hardware, software, and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and WAN/LAN technologies. In addition, you must have an understanding of security, routing, and switching protocols, and experience with network monitoring and optimization tools.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, configure, and maintain network systems and protocols to ensure optimal network performance.
2. Monitor and analyze network performance and security risks, and take corrective action as needed.
3. Troubleshoot network-related issues and respond to requests from other departments.
4. Manage network resources and ensure data integrity.
5. Develop and implement network security policies and procedures.
6. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
7. Prepare and maintain network documentation.
8. Train staff on new network technologies and procedures.
9. Work with vendors and other IT professionals to ensure the success of network projects.
