Job Description

Stella McCartney is looking for a creative, passionate, and highly collaborative Textile Researcher to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within our luxury fashion house and further our commitment to sustainability. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong understanding of sustainable fabrics and the ability to source new, innovative materials.The ideal Textile Researcher will have a degree in Textiles, Fashion Design, or a related field, as well as a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. They must also be a skilled communicator, with the ability to liaise with external suppliers, suppliers, and other professionals to ensure that materials meet our high standards. Additionally, the successful candidate must have a deep knowledge of sustainable fabrics, an eye for detail, and a passion for upcoming trends and technologies in the fashion industry.If you have the qualifications and experience necessary for this role, as well as a passion for luxury fashion and sustainability, then we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Source and research new, innovative sustainable fabrics for use in luxury fashion products.
  2. Evaluate and test fabrics for sustainability, quality, and other standards.
  3. Liaise with external suppliers, vendors, and other professionals to ensure materials meet high standards.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
  5. Monitor upcoming trends and technologies in the fashion industry.
  6. Keep up to date with best practices in sustainable fabric sourcing.
  7. Create and present textile research reports to internal stakeholders.
  8. Provide creative input and support for other textile-related projects.
  9. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to sustainability within the fashion house.
