We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our team at the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) Program. As an Industrial Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of workers across the state.   1. Conduct health and safety assessments of various workplaces to identify potential hazards and risks.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate and control workplace hazards.
  3. Monitor and enforce compliance with state and federal occupational safety and health regulations.
  4. Provide guidance and recommendations to employers on ways to improve workplace safety and health.
  5. Conduct on-site inspections and investigations to assess workplace health and safety conditions.
  6. Analyze and interpret data related to workplace exposures and develop reports on findings.
  7. Collaborate with other team members to develop and deliver training programs on occupational safety and health.
  8. Keep up-to-date with current industry standards and regulations related to industrial hygiene.
  9. Communicate with employers, employees, and other stakeholders on occupational safety and health issues.
  10. Utilize technical equipment and tools to collect and analyze samples for potential workplace hazards.
  11. Generate and maintain accurate records and reports related to workplace safety and health.
  12. Stay informed on emerging trends, research, and technology related to industrial hygiene.
  13. Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to develop and implement workplace safety and health initiatives.
  14. Participate in outreach and education programs to promote awareness and understanding of occupational safety and health.
  15. Serve as a resource and consultant to employers and employees on matters related to industrial hygiene.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health And Safety, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Certified Industrial Hygienist (Cih) From The American Board Of Industrial Hygiene.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Industrial Hygiene, Preferably In A Government Or Public Health Setting.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Osha Regulations And Standards, As Well As State And Federal Environmental Laws.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Technical Information To A Variety Of Audiences.
