Job Description

Welcome to the team at State of Virginia! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Treasury Intern to join our dynamic department. As a Treasury Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of finance and contribute to the financial operations of our state.   1. Assist with daily financial operations: The Treasury Intern will be responsible for assisting with various financial tasks such as processing payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining financial records.
  2. Learn and adhere to financial policies and procedures: The intern will be required to familiarize themselves with the state's financial policies and procedures and ensure compliance with them at all times.
  3. Collaborate with team members: The intern will work closely with the Treasury team to complete tasks and projects, and must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with others.
  4. Conduct financial analysis: The intern may be asked to assist with financial analysis, including gathering data, creating reports, and making recommendations based on their findings.
  5. Participate in training and development opportunities: The intern will have the opportunity to participate in training and development programs to enhance their skills and knowledge in the field of finance.
  6. Maintain confidentiality: The intern will be responsible for handling sensitive financial information and must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  7. Support special projects: The intern may be assigned to assist with special projects related to the Treasury department's goals and objectives.
  8. Assist with budgeting and forecasting: The intern may be involved in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing support and input where needed.
  9. Attend meetings and take notes: The intern may be required to attend meetings and take notes, providing a summary of discussions and action items.
  10. Demonstrate a strong work ethic: The intern must have a strong work ethic and be willing to take on new challenges and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  11. Contribute to a positive work environment: The intern is expected to contribute to a positive work environment by being professional, respectful, and enthusiastic in their role.
  12. Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time: The intern must be detail-oriented and able to complete assigned tasks accurately and within given deadlines.
