  • Conduct research and analysis on current policies and proposed legislation, providing valuable insights and recommendations to policymakers
  • Collaborate with a team of fellow Kapnick Fellows and government officials to develop and implement strategic policy initiatives
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and events with government officials and stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the political landscape and policy-making process
  • Draft policy briefs, reports, and memos to communicate complex information and data to various audiences
  • Assist in the development and execution of public outreach and engagement strategies to promote awareness and understanding of key policy issues
  • Serve as a liaison between government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to gather input and feedback on policies and initiatives
  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as needed to support the overall goals and objectives of the Kapnick Fellowship program
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to ethical and responsible decision-making, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies
  • Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth, actively participating in trainings, workshops, and networking events
  • Represent the Kapnick Fellowship and the State of Virginia in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Public Policy, Political Science, Or Economics.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Government Or Nonprofit Setting, With A Focus On Policy Analysis Or Research.

  • Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Information And Data.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Findings And Recommendations To Various Stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated Interest In And Knowledge Of Virginia State Government, Including Key Issues And Policies Affecting The State.
