- Conduct research and analysis on current policies and proposed legislation, providing valuable insights and recommendations to policymakers
- Collaborate with a team of fellow Kapnick Fellows and government officials to develop and implement strategic policy initiatives
- Attend meetings, conferences, and events with government officials and stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the political landscape and policy-making process
- Draft policy briefs, reports, and memos to communicate complex information and data to various audiences
- Assist in the development and execution of public outreach and engagement strategies to promote awareness and understanding of key policy issues
- Serve as a liaison between government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to gather input and feedback on policies and initiatives
- Take on additional responsibilities and projects as needed to support the overall goals and objectives of the Kapnick Fellowship program
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to ethical and responsible decision-making, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies
- Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth, actively participating in trainings, workshops, and networking events
- Represent the Kapnick Fellowship and the State of Virginia in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Public Policy, Political Science, Or Economics.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Government Or Nonprofit Setting, With A Focus On Policy Analysis Or Research.
Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Information And Data.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Findings And Recommendations To Various Stakeholders.
Demonstrated Interest In And Knowledge Of Virginia State Government, Including Key Issues And Policies Affecting The State.
