
Police Dispatcher (CERTIFIED ONLY) FT

- Serve as the primary point of contact for all emergency and non-emergency calls received by the Police Department.
- Respond to calls in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately recorded and dispatched to the appropriate officers.
- Monitor and coordinate radio communications with law enforcement officers in the field.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all calls and dispatch activities.
- Provide support and assistance to officers in the field as needed.
- Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, while effectively communicating with callers and officers.
- Utilize various computer systems and software to access and record information.
- Follow department protocols and procedures for handling various types of calls, including emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Collaborate with other dispatchers and law enforcement personnel to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
- Attend and participate in training and continuing education programs to maintain certification and stay updated on department policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service to members of the community and represent the Police Department in a professional and positive manner.
Certification: Must Possess A Valid Certification From Either The National Academy Of Emergency Dispatch (Naed) Or The International Academies Of Emergency Dispatch (Iaed).
Experience: Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Certified Police Dispatcher In A High-Volume And Fast-Paced Emergency Call Center Environment.
Knowledge Of Emergency Protocols: Thorough Understanding Of Emergency Protocols And Procedures, Including 911 Call Handling, Dispatching, And Emergency Response Coordination.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Remain Calm And Composed In High-Stress Situations.
Technology Proficiency: Proficient In Using Computer-Aided Dispatch (Cad) Systems, Radio Communication Equipment, And Other Emergency Response Technology.
