- Organize and catalog media assets including photos, videos, audio recordings, and documents.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of media descriptions and metadata.
- Create and maintain a systematic filing and indexing system for easy retrieval of media assets.
- Conduct research on media materials to gather relevant information and context.
- Handle media materials with care to preserve their integrity and prevent damage.
- Digitize physical media materials to ensure their long-term preservation.
- Collaborate with fellow archivists and interns to assist in the management of media collections.
- Help identify and prioritize media materials for preservation based on historical significance and relevance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preservation strategies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices for media preservation.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to develop skills and knowledge in archiving and media management.
- Communicate effectively with team members and superiors to provide updates on projects and seek guidance when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive media materials.
- Actively contribute to the team's efforts to promote and raise awareness about the importance of media preservation.
- Embrace a growth mindset and be open to learning and taking on new responsibilities as needed.
Bachelor's Degree In Library And Information Science, Media Studies, Film Studies, Or A Related Field.
Experience With Media Management And Cataloging Systems, Such As Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Or Avid Media Composer.
Familiarity With Archival Best Practices And Standards, Including Digitization, Preservation, And Metadata Creation.
Strong Organizational And Research Skills, With The Ability To Handle Multiple Projects And Deadlines.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Team And Interact With External Stakeholders.
