- Provide excellent customer service to all library patrons, including welcoming and assisting them in locating resources and utilizing library services.
- Manage and maintain library collections, including selecting, purchasing, organizing, and weeding materials.
- Develop and implement programs and services that promote literacy, learning, and a love for reading within the community.
- Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all library users.
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide guidance on how to effectively utilize library resources.
- Collaborate with other librarians and library staff to plan and execute library events and programs.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and technologies in the library field and implement them in daily tasks.
- Train and supervise library volunteers and student assistants.
- Maintain accurate records and statistics of library usage, circulation, and program attendance.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and local businesses to promote library services and programs.
- Follow library policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of patrons and library materials.
- Maintain a neat and organized library space, including shelving and arranging materials.
- Assist with budgeting and purchasing new materials for the library.
- Other duties as assigned by the library director.
Master's Degree In Library Science Or Related Field From An Ala-Accredited Program.
Knowledge Of Library Systems And Technologies, Including Cataloging, Database Management, And Digital Resources.
Strong Customer Service And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Assist Patrons In Locating And Accessing Information.
Experience In Collection Development, Including Selecting And Acquiring Materials To Meet The Needs Of Diverse Populations.
Familiarity With State And Federal Laws Related To Library Services, As Well As Adherence To Ethical Standards In The Profession.
