  1. Provide administrative and clerical support to the forensic team, including data entry, filing, and organizing case files.
  2. Assist with evidence collection, preservation, and transportation to and from the crime scene.
  3. Prepare reports and documentation related to forensic investigations, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  4. Collaborate with forensic scientists and law enforcement officials to gather and analyze evidence.
  5. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information and evidence.
  6. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge of forensic processes and procedures.
  7. Assist in the preparation of court presentations and testify in court as needed.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including properly storing and labeling evidence.
  9. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  10. Continuously review and improve processes to increase efficiency and accuracy in forensic investigations.
  11. Stay up-to-date with advancements in forensic science and technology and implement new techniques and tools as appropriate.
  12. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
  13. Represent the Tidewater District of Virginia with professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working In A Forensic Laboratory Or Similar Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Forensic Analysis Techniques And Procedures.

  • Excellent Organizational And Communication Skills.

  • Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
