- Teach and facilitate engaging and informative English courses to students at the State of Virginia English Faculty Department.
- Create lesson plans and curriculum that aligns with department and state standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians to provide support, feedback, and progress updates.
- Stay up-to-date with current research, trends, and developments in the field of English education.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage and challenge students.
- Assess student learning and provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other members of the English Faculty Department to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for students, promoting a love for English and a passion for learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Adhere to department and school policies and procedures.
- Attend faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as needed.
- Continuously strive to improve teaching methods and student outcomes.
- Uphold the mission and values of the State of Virginia English Faculty Department.
A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In English Or A Related Field.
Experience Teaching English At The College Level, Preferably At A State University.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Students And Colleagues.
A Record Of Scholarly Research And Publications In The Field Of English.
Familiarity With Current Teaching Methodologies And A Commitment To Student-Centered Learning.
