Job Description

Welcome to the State of Virginia English Faculty Department! We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as English Faculty members. As a member of our faculty, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation of learners in the field of English. We are looking for individuals who possess strong communication skills, a deep understanding and appreciation for the English language, and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.   1. Teach and facilitate engaging and informative English courses to students at the State of Virginia English Faculty Department.
  2. Create lesson plans and curriculum that aligns with department and state standards.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  4. Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians to provide support, feedback, and progress updates.
  5. Stay up-to-date with current research, trends, and developments in the field of English education.
  6. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage and challenge students.
  7. Assess student learning and provide timely and constructive feedback.
  8. Collaborate with other members of the English Faculty Department to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
  9. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  10. Serve as a mentor and role model for students, promoting a love for English and a passion for learning.
  11. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  12. Adhere to department and school policies and procedures.
  13. Attend faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as needed.
  14. Continuously strive to improve teaching methods and student outcomes.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of the State of Virginia English Faculty Department.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In English Or A Related Field.

  • Experience Teaching English At The College Level, Preferably At A State University.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Students And Colleagues.

  • A Record Of Scholarly Research And Publications In The Field Of English.

  • Familiarity With Current Teaching Methodologies And A Commitment To Student-Centered Learning.
