
Deputy Clerk

As a Deputy Clerk, you will play a vital role in our government by providing administrative support to the Clerk of Court. - Provide administrative support to the Clerk of Court in all aspects of their duties.
- Assist with the management and maintenance of records and documents in accordance with state laws and regulations.
- Perform data entry, filing, and other clerical tasks as needed to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from citizens, attorneys, and other government agencies in a timely and professional manner.
- Schedule and coordinate court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
- Prepare and distribute court documents, including summonses, subpoenas, and other legal notices.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Collaborate with other members of the court staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Attend training and educational programs to stay updated on laws, procedures, and technology related to the role.
- Uphold the mission and values of the State of Virginia and the court system by providing excellent customer service and promoting a positive image of the government.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Clerk of Court or other supervisory personnel.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Deputy Clerk At The State Of Virginia Must Have At Least A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, Demonstrating A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge.
Experience In Clerical Or Administrative Work: Previous Experience In A Clerical Or Administrative Role, Preferably In A Legal Or Government Setting, Is Highly Desired For A Deputy Clerk Position.
Knowledge Of Court Procedures And Legal Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Court Procedures And Legal Terminology Is Necessary For A Deputy Clerk To Effectively Assist With Legal Processes And Documentation.
Strong Organizational And Multitasking Skills: A Deputy Clerk Must Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks And Responsibilities Simultaneously, While Also Maintaining Accurate And Organized Records.
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Deputy Clerk, One Must Interact With A Variety Of Individuals, Including Judges, Attorneys, And The General Public. Therefore, Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential For This Role.
