The State of Virginia is seeking a Deputy Chief Information Security Officer to join our dynamic and dedicated team.   1. Develop and implement a comprehensive information security program for the state of Virginia, in line with industry standards and best practices.
  2. Lead and manage a team of information security professionals to ensure the protection of critical data and systems.
  3. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities within the state's information systems and take appropriate measures to mitigate them.
  4. Collaborate with various state agencies and departments to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in information security and proactively recommend and implement new technologies and strategies to enhance the state's security posture.
  6. Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and support to state employees on information security matters.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to enhance the state's security capabilities.
  8. Monitor and analyze security incidents and provide timely and effective response and resolution.
  9. Prepare reports and presentations on the state's information security status and progress for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  10. Foster a culture of security awareness and training among state employees to ensure the protection of sensitive data and information.
  11. Manage the budget for the information security program and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.
  12. Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to information security and privacy.
  13. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment within the information security team.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information and systems at all times.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve the state's information security program to keep pace with evolving cyber threats and risks.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Professional Certifications Such As Cissp, Cism, Or Cisa.

  • Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Information Security, With At Least 3 Years In A Leadership Role.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Information Security And Privacy.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Departments And Stakeholders In A Hybrid Work Environment.
