Valid Cna Certification: The First And Most Important Qualification For A Cna In The Sticu At State Of Virginia Is A Valid Cna Certification. This Ensures That The Individual Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Quality Care To Patients In A Surgical Trauma Icu Setting.
Experience In Surgical Trauma Care: Candidates For This Position Should Have Previous Experience In A Surgical Trauma Icu, Preferably In A Full-Time Capacity. This Experience Will Give Them A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Requirements Of Caring For Critically Ill Patients In This Setting.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In A Surgical Trauma Icu Requires Close Collaboration With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team. As Such, A Cna In This Role Should Possess Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Medical Professionals.
Attention To Detail And Ability To Handle High-Stress Situations: The Sticu Is A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment, And A Cna In This Role Must Be Able To Handle The Pressure And Remain Calm In Stressful Situations. They Should Also Have A Keen Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate Documentation And Monitoring Of Patient Conditions.
Current Bls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Is A Crucial Requirement For Cnas In The Sticu. This Certification Ensures That They Have The Necessary Training To Respond To Medical Emergencies And Provide Immediate Life-Saving Care To Patients In Critical Condition.
