  1. Provide compassionate and dedicated care to patients in the Surgical Trauma ICU (STICU) unit.
  2. Collaborate with a team of medical professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
  3. Administer basic nursing care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support to patients.
  4. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  6. Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies.
  7. Assist with the implementation of treatment plans and therapies as directed by medical staff.
  8. Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the appropriate medical personnel.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote a safe and efficient workflow.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on best practices and advancements in healthcare.
  11. Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Cna Certification: The First And Most Important Qualification For A Cna In The Sticu At State Of Virginia Is A Valid Cna Certification. This Ensures That The Individual Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Quality Care To Patients In A Surgical Trauma Icu Setting.

  • Experience In Surgical Trauma Care: Candidates For This Position Should Have Previous Experience In A Surgical Trauma Icu, Preferably In A Full-Time Capacity. This Experience Will Give Them A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Requirements Of Caring For Critically Ill Patients In This Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In A Surgical Trauma Icu Requires Close Collaboration With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team. As Such, A Cna In This Role Should Possess Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Medical Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail And Ability To Handle High-Stress Situations: The Sticu Is A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment, And A Cna In This Role Must Be Able To Handle The Pressure And Remain Calm In Stressful Situations. They Should Also Have A Keen Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate Documentation And Monitoring Of Patient Conditions.

  • Current Bls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Is A Crucial Requirement For Cnas In The Sticu. This Certification Ensures That They Have The Necessary Training To Respond To Medical Emergencies And Provide Immediate Life-Saving Care To Patients In Critical Condition.
