- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper care and storage of tools and equipment.

- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices in farrier work.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced farriers on the team.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for both horses and humans.
- Keep accurate records of all work performed, including horse profiles, shoeing schedules, and any changes or updates.
- Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of shoeing techniques and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, representing the State of Virginia and the equine industry with integrity and pride.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist with other equine-related tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Uphold and promote ethical and humane treatment of all animals in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Completion Of A Recognized Farrier Training Program Or Equivalent Experience.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Equine Anatomy, Physiology, And Hoof Care Techniques.
Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Clients And Team Members.
Ability To Work Independently And Manage A Busy Schedule, Including Time Management And Record Keeping.
Possession Of A Valid Driver's License And Reliable Transportation For Travel To Various Locations Within The State.
