Welcome to the State of Virginia's financial aid team! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join us as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students by assisting them in navigating the complex world of financial aid. Our ideal candidate is a driven and detail-oriented individual with a passion for helping others and a strong understanding of financial aid processes and regulations.   1. Assist the Director of Financial Aid in developing and implementing strategies to increase financial aid accessibility for students.
  2. Provide guidance and support to students and their families in understanding the financial aid application process.
  3. Evaluate and process financial aid applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  4. Conduct financial aid workshops and presentations to educate students and families about available aid options and requirements.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to streamline processes and improve efficiency in delivering financial aid services.
  6. Stay updated on changes in financial aid policies and regulations to ensure compliance and make necessary adjustments to processes.
  7. Manage and maintain accurate records of financial aid disbursements and student information.
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of financial aid policies and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  9. Provide excellent customer service to students and families by responding promptly and professionally to inquiries and concerns.
  10. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in financial aid administration.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Financial Aid Administration, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Financial Aid Regulations And Policies

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Working With Students, Parents, And Colleagues

  • Experience In Managing A Team And Supervising Staff Members
