Job Description

If so, the State of Utah is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Youth Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to empower and support the growth and development of youth across the state.   1. Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote the positive development of youth across the state.
  2. Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to identify and address the needs of youth.
  3. Conduct outreach and engagement efforts to connect with at-risk youth and provide them with resources and support.
  4. Provide individual and group counseling and mentorship to youth in need, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  5. Create and maintain a safe and inclusive environment for youth to learn and grow.
  6. Stay informed on current trends and best practices in youth development and incorporate them into program design.
  7. Develop and facilitate workshops and trainings for youth and youth-serving professionals.
  8. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
  9. Act as a liaison between youth and other agencies or resources to ensure their needs are met.
  10. Serve as a positive role model and advocate for youth, promoting their rights and well-being.
  11. Maintain accurate and confidential records of youth participation and progress.
  12. Collaborate with other team members and agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to youth development.
  13. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and provide them with support and resources as needed.
  14. Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations regarding youth development and confidentiality.
  15. Continuously work to improve and enhance the quality of services provided to youth.
  16. Attend trainings, conferences, and meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and network with other professionals in the field.
  17. Maintain a positive and professional attitude and represent the values and mission of the State of Utah.
  18. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working With Youth In A Professional Setting

  • Knowledge Of Adolescent Development And Evidence-Based Youth Interventions

  • Ability To Communicate Effectively With Diverse Populations, Including Youth, Parents, And Community Partners

  • Experience In Program Development, Implementation, And Evaluation
