
Youth Development Specialist

- Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote the positive development of youth across the state.
- Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to identify and address the needs of youth.
- Conduct outreach and engagement efforts to connect with at-risk youth and provide them with resources and support.
- Provide individual and group counseling and mentorship to youth in need, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Create and maintain a safe and inclusive environment for youth to learn and grow.
- Stay informed on current trends and best practices in youth development and incorporate them into program design.
- Develop and facilitate workshops and trainings for youth and youth-serving professionals.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
- Act as a liaison between youth and other agencies or resources to ensure their needs are met.
- Serve as a positive role model and advocate for youth, promoting their rights and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of youth participation and progress.
- Collaborate with other team members and agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to youth development.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and provide them with support and resources as needed.
- Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations regarding youth development and confidentiality.
- Continuously work to improve and enhance the quality of services provided to youth.
- Attend trainings, conferences, and meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and network with other professionals in the field.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude and represent the values and mission of the State of Utah.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working With Youth In A Professional Setting
Knowledge Of Adolescent Development And Evidence-Based Youth Interventions
Ability To Communicate Effectively With Diverse Populations, Including Youth, Parents, And Community Partners
Experience In Program Development, Implementation, And Evaluation
