- Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals who have been impacted by crime.
- Advocate for victims' rights and ensure they are treated with respect and dignity throughout the criminal justice process.
- Conduct needs assessments and develop individualized service plans for victims.
- Connect victims with appropriate resources such as counseling, legal assistance, and support groups.
- Educate victims on their rights and the legal process, and provide them with information and updates on their case.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and other agencies to ensure victims' needs are met.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions with victims.
- Attend court hearings and provide support and assistance to victims throughout the legal proceedings.
- Monitor and address any safety concerns of victims, and work with law enforcement to provide protection if necessary.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on victim advocacy best practices.
- Act as a liaison between victims and the criminal justice system, providing support and guidance for victims to navigate the system.
- Conduct community outreach and education on victim services and resources available.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with victims and their families.
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to provide a comprehensive network of support for victims.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the handling of sensitive and confidential information.
Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Or A Related Field.
Knowledge Of And Experience Working With Victims Of Crime, Trauma, And/Or Domestic Violence.
Understanding Of State And Federal Laws Related To Victims' Rights And Services.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, Including The Ability To Empathize And Provide Emotional Support To Victims.
Familiarity With Community Resources And Ability To Navigate And Coordinate Services For Victims.
