- Collaborate with other veterinarians and animal health professionals to develop and implement disease prevention and control programs.
- Perform necropsies and laboratory tests to identify and monitor disease outbreaks in animals.
- Keep accurate records of all animal health evaluations and treatments.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and state animal health authorities.
- Stay updated on current laws and regulations related to animal welfare and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Assist in emergency response efforts for animal-related disasters.
- Train and supervise veterinary technicians and other support staff.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
- Continuously improve and update knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines set by the veterinary profession.
- Represent the State of Utah's Department of Agriculture and Food in a professional and positive manner.

Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine (Dvm) Degree From An Accredited Veterinary School
Valid State License To Practice Veterinary Medicine In Utah
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working As A Veterinarian In A Clinical Setting
Knowledge And Experience In A Variety Of Animal Species, Including Domestic Pets, Livestock, And Wildlife
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact Effectively With Pet Owners, Colleagues, And Other Stakeholders.
