Welcome to the exciting world of transportation communications at the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT)! We are currently seeking a Communications Intern to join our dynamic team and assist in promoting our mission of keeping Utah moving. As a vital member of our communications department, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public relations, media relations, and social media management.   1. Support the communications team in promoting UDOT's mission of keeping Utah moving.
  2. Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies to reach a wide audience.
  3. Conduct research and gather information to support communication initiatives.
  4. Create engaging content for various communication channels, including social media, press releases, and website.
  5. Monitor and analyze media coverage and social media trends related to transportation and UDOT.
  6. Collaborate with team members to plan and execute events and campaigns.
  7. Respond to media inquiries and assist in coordinating interviews and media appearances.
  8. Attend meetings and events to represent UDOT and assist with media relations.
  9. Help maintain and update internal communication platforms, such as employee newsletters and intranet.
  10. Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing materials, such as brochures and flyers.
  11. Support crisis communication efforts and assist in developing emergency communication plans.
  12. Conduct evaluations and provide recommendations for improving communication strategies.
  13. Stay up-to-date on transportation industry trends and developments.
  14. Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude while representing UDOT.
  15. Other duties as assigned by the communications team.
