  1. Perform regular inspections and maintenance of state highway signs and guardrails to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  2. Install, repair, and replace signs and guardrails as needed to maintain safe and functional roadways.
  3. Use specialized tools and equipment to perform tasks such as welding, drilling, and cutting.
  4. Conduct traffic control measures to ensure a safe work environment for both yourself and other workers.
  5. Keep detailed records of sign and guardrail installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work schedules and report any issues or concerns.
  7. Monitor and report on the condition of signs and guardrails to identify potential hazards and suggest improvements.
  8. Work closely with engineering and design teams to ensure proper placement and installation of signs and guardrails.
  9. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and maintain a safe work environment.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations related to sign and guardrail maintenance and installation.
  11. Attend training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in transportation technology and safety.
  12. Assist with emergency response efforts, such as clearing debris from roadways or providing traffic control, as needed.
  13. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to coordinate transportation projects and priorities.
  14. Provide excellent customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and concerns related to signs and guardrails.
  15. Represent the State of Utah Department of Transportation in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In The Transportation Industry, With A Focus On Sign And Guardrail Installation And Maintenance.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Sign And Guardrail Installation And Maintenance.

  • Ability To Operate Heavy Equipment, Such As Cranes And Bucket Trucks, For Sign And Guardrail Installation.

  • Proficiency In Reading And Interpreting Blueprints And Construction Plans.

  • Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well With A Team To Complete Projects On Time And Within Budget.
