  1. Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages to the appropriate recipients in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail when handling sensitive and confidential materials.
  3. Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, sorting machines, and scales.
  4. Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies to maintain a well-stocked and functional mailroom.
  5. Collaborate with other state offices and departments to coordinate outgoing mail and package deliveries.
  6. Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with mail delivery or equipment malfunctions.
  8. Provide top-notch customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and concerns from state employees and external stakeholders.
  9. Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding mail handling and delivery.
  10. Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to streamline mailroom processes and increase efficiency.
  11. Train and guide new employees on mailroom procedures and protocols.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mailroom technology.
  13. Represent the state in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the mailroom supervisor or state leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Required For This Position To Ensure Basic Educational Qualifications Are Met.

  • Knowledge Of Mail Services: Candidates Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Mailroom Operations, Including Sorting, Processing, And Distributing Mail In A Timely And Efficient Manner.

  • Technical Skills: The State Mail General Services Technician Should Have A Strong Technical Aptitude, Including Proficiency With Mailroom Equipment And Computer Systems.
