
Senate Majority Legislative Assistant

- Assist the state senators in their daily tasks and responsibilities.
- Conduct research and gather information on legislative issues and policies.
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and memos for the senators.
- Attend legislative meetings, hearings, and sessions as needed and provide summaries and updates to the senators.
- Manage and organize the senators' schedules and appointments.
- Respond to inquiries and correspondence from constituents and other stakeholders.
- Maintain and update databases and records related to legislative activities.
- Coordinate with other legislative assistants and staff to ensure efficient workflow and communication.
- Collaborate with the senators to develop and implement legislative strategies.
- Assist in drafting and editing legislative documents, such as bills and amendments.
- Monitor and track the progress of legislative initiatives and provide timely updates to the senators.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on legislative processes and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between the senators and other legislative offices and departments.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Perform other administrative and clerical tasks as assigned by the senators.
Bachelor's Degree In Political Science, Public Policy, Or A Related Field.
Previous Experience Working In A Legislative Office Or In A Political Environment.
Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Legislators, Constituents, And Other Stakeholders.
Knowledge Of The Legislative Process And Procedures, As Well As A Strong Understanding Of The Political Landscape In Utah.
Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced, High-Pressure Environment, While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Meeting Deadlines.
