  1. Oversee and manage all surveying activities within the designated region.
  2. Ensure accuracy and integrity of all survey data collected.
  3. Develop and implement surveying strategies and procedures for the region.
  4. Train and mentor surveying staff to ensure high-quality work and adherence to standards.
  5. Conduct regular quality control checks on survey data and reports.
  6. Maintain updated knowledge of surveying technologies and techniques.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to coordinate surveying projects.
  8. Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines and budgets.
  9. Communicate with project stakeholders to provide updates and address any issues that arise.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety protocols.
  11. Identify and resolve any surveying issues or discrepancies.
  12. Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  13. Prepare and present reports and presentations on surveying activities and results.
  14. Manage and maintain surveying equipment and tools.
  15. Lead and motivate surveying team members to achieve department goals.
  16. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to surveying staff.
  17. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement necessary changes.
  18. Act as a liaison between the department and external surveying contractors.
  19. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in surveying technology.
  20. Uphold the values and mission of the State of Utah's Department of Natural Resources.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Surveying, Civil Engineering, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Land Surveying, Including 2 Years In A Supervisory Or Management Role.

  • Professional Land Surveyor (Pls) License In The State Of Utah.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Surveying Principles, Techniques, And Equipment.

  • Excellent Communication, Leadership, And Project Management Skills.
