- Develop and implement recreational therapy programs and activities for patients with mental illness at the Utah State Hospital.
- Conduct assessments to determine individual patient needs and create personalized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and participation in recreational therapy.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy programs and make necessary adjustments.

- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Attend regular staff meetings and trainings to stay informed and contribute to the overall success of the recreational therapy department.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families at all times.
- Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.
- Continuously strive to improve the quality of life for individuals with mental illness through recreational therapy interventions.
Bachelor's Degree In Recreational Therapy Or A Related Field, Such As Psychology Or Social Work.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Recreational Therapist, Preferably In A Mental Health Or Hospital Setting.
Certification As A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs) Through The National Council For Therapeutic Recreation Certification (Nctrc).
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Therapeutic Recreation Interventions And Techniques, As Well As Experience In Creating And Implementing Treatment Plans.
Ability To Work Collaboratively With Interdisciplinary Teams And Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Staff.
