- Provide leadership and support to the psychiatric technicians in the unit, ensuring a positive and cohesive team dynamic.
- Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the unit, including patient care and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and assess patients' mental health status, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatments.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, promoting a compassionate and supportive environment.
- Ensure the safety and security of patients and staff at all times.
- Provide education and training to new staff members and assist in their orientation to the unit.
- Participate in performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
- Stay updated on current best practices and standards in mental health care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

Bachelor's Degree In Psychology Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Psychology Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For A Psychiatric Technician-Tl Position At Utah State Hospital. This Education Provides A Strong Foundation In Mental Health Principles And Practices.
Previous Experience In A Mental Health Setting: Candidates For This Role Should Have Prior Experience Working In A Mental Health Facility Or With Individuals Who Have Mental Health Disorders. This Experience Demonstrates An Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Needs Of This Population.
