  1. Dispensing medication: The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for accurately dispensing medication to incarcerated individuals, following all necessary protocols and procedures.
  2. Maintaining inventory: The Technician will regularly monitor and maintain inventory levels of medication to ensure an adequate supply for all incarcerated individuals.
  3. Assisting with medication orders: The Technician will assist in processing and filling medication orders, including verifying dosage, quantity, and drug interactions.
  4. Checking for accuracy: The Technician will be responsible for checking the accuracy of all medication orders before dispensing, ensuring the correct medication and dosage are given to each individual.
  5. Collaborating with pharmacists: The Technician will work closely with pharmacists to ensure proper medication management and to address any concerns or issues that may arise.
  6. Overseeing medication administration: The Technician will oversee the administration of medications to incarcerated individuals, ensuring the correct dosage and monitoring for any adverse reactions.
  7. Maintaining records: The Technician will keep detailed records of all medication transactions, including dispensing, administering, and returning medications.
  8. Following safety protocols: The Technician will adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safe handling and storage of medication.
  9. Training and education: The Technician will provide training and education to other healthcare staff and incarcerated individuals on proper medication administration and management.
  10. Maintaining confidentiality: The Technician will maintain strict confidentiality of all medical and personal information of incarcerated individuals, following HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
  11. Supporting healthcare team: The Technician will work closely with other healthcare team members to support the overall health and well-being of incarcerated individuals.
  12. Staying up-to-date: The Technician will stay informed of new medications, regulations, and best practices in the field of pharmacy to ensure the highest quality of care for incarcerated individuals.
  13. Maintaining certification: The Technician will maintain their Pharmacy Technician certification and stay current with any necessary continuing education requirements.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) Through The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb)

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience As A Pharmacy Technician In A Healthcare Setting

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Pharmacy Operations And Controlled Substances

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And Dynamic Environment.
