- Provide optometry services to incarcerated individuals in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams, diagnose vision problems, and prescribe corrective lenses or other treatments as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient visits and treatments.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and hygiene.
- Monitor and manage chronic eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Respond to urgent eye care needs and emergencies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements and best practices in optometry.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to optometry services.
- Collaborate with correctional staff to ensure patient safety and security during appointments.

Doctor Of Optometry (Od) Degree From An Accredited Optometry School.
Current And Valid License To Practice Optometry In The State Of Utah.
Experience In Providing Optometric Services In A Correctional Health Setting.
Knowledge Of And Experience With Correctional Health Policies, Procedures, And Regulations.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With A Diverse Population Of Incarcerated Individuals.
