- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, tune-ups, and inspections.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with diesel engines, using specialized tools and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and identify complex problems with diesel engines and provide effective solutions.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed on diesel engines.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to prioritize and complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and new technologies related to diesel engines.
- Keep inventory of parts and supplies needed for repairs and maintenance and submit requests for restocking as needed.
- Adhere to state and federal regulations and guidelines for diesel engine emissions and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to report progress, issues, and recommendations.
- Mentor and train junior mechanics and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality workmanship in all tasks performed.
- Represent the State of Utah in a professional and positive manner while interacting with colleagues, superiors, and the public.
- Participate in special projects or initiatives as assigned by superiors.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality requirements.
Valid Driver's License And Clean Driving Record.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
Completion Of A Certified Diesel Mechanic Program Or Equivalent Experience.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Diesel Engine Repair And Maintenance.
Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Regulations For Diesel Emissions And Safety Standards.
