- Provide direct care and supervision to youth at the Slate Canyon Youth Center during the graveyard shift.
- Monitor and maintain the safety and security of the facility and its residents.
- Implement and enforce rules and regulations set by the State of Utah and the youth center.
- Utilize technical skills to troubleshoot and maintain facility equipment and systems.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of educational and recreational activities for youth.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with youth, staff, and families.
- Document and report any incidents or concerns regarding youth behavior or facility operations.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a safe and supportive environment for youth.
- Attend trainings and meetings to stay updated on policies and procedures.
- Support and promote the youth center's mission and values.
- Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations related to youth care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information regarding youth and their families.
- Participate in emergency response procedures as needed.
- Communicate effectively with youth, families, and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner.
- Maintain accurate and organized records and documentation.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Applicants Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Be Considered For The Position.
Previous Experience Working With Youth: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience Working With Youth, Particularly In A Residential Treatment Or Correctional Facility Setting.
Knowledge Of Youth Behavior And Development: A Strong Understanding Of Youth Behavior And Development Is Essential For This Position, As The Technician Will Be Working Closely With At-Risk Youth.
Crisis Intervention And De-Escalation Skills: Due To The Nature Of The Job, The Technician Should Have Experience And Training In Crisis Intervention And De-Escalation Techniques To Effectively Handle Difficult Situations.
Ability To Pass A Background Check: As This Position Involves Working With Vulnerable Youth, The Applicant Must Be Able To Pass A Thorough Background Check, Including A Criminal History Check And Drug Screening.
