Job Description

As a Hydrogeologist, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing the quality and quantity of our groundwater and surface water resources. Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular field investigations and data collection to monitor the quality and quantity of groundwater and surface water resources in the state.
  2. Use advanced geology and hydrology knowledge to analyze and interpret data to assess the health and sustainability of water resources.
  3. Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to identify potential threats to water resources and develop strategies for mitigation and conservation.
  4. Utilize various tools and technologies to create accurate maps, models, and reports of water resources.
  5. Identify and evaluate potential contamination sources and develop plans for remediation and prevention.
  6. Stay updated on current regulations and policies related to water resources and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  7. Provide technical expertise and support to other departments and agencies on water resource management issues.
  8. Conduct research and stay informed of new developments in the field of hydrogeology to continuously improve and enhance methods and techniques.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of water management plans and policies to ensure the sustainable use of water resources.
  10. Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences through written reports, presentations, and meetings.
  11. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to maintain and improve knowledge and skills related to water resource management.
  12. Represent the state at meetings, conferences, and workshops related to hydrogeology and water resource management.
  13. Maintain accurate and organized records of data, reports, and other relevant information.
  14. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while conducting fieldwork and handling equipment.
  15. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Geology, Hydrology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Hydrogeology, Preferably In A Governmental Or Regulatory Agency.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Groundwater Management And Protection.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Data And Make Informed Decisions.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Other Professionals And Stakeholders.
