  1. Perform regular maintenance and repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles, including cars, trucks, and specialty vehicles.
  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  3. Conduct vehicle inspections and keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and procedures.
  5. Monitor and track inventory of necessary parts and supplies, placing orders as needed.
  6. Utilize technical knowledge and skills to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  7. Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
  8. Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain necessary parts and services.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and new technologies related to fleet vehicles.
  10. Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards while performing job duties.
  11. Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  12. Train and mentor new technicians as needed.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the State of Utah.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Fleet Technician Job At State Of Utah Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Core Subjects Such As Math, Science, And English, Which Are Necessary For Performing Technical Tasks.

  • Technical Certification: State Of Utah May Require Candidates To Possess A Relevant Technical Certification, Such As Automotive Service Excellence (Ase) Certification. These Certifications Demonstrate A Candidate's Knowledge And Proficiency In Repairing And Maintaining Vehicles.

  • Prior Experience: Candidates With Prior Experience In Fleet Maintenance Will Be Given Preference. This Includes Experience In Diagnosing And Repairing Various Types Of Vehicles, Conducting Preventative Maintenance, And Using Diagnostic Equipment And Tools.

  • Valid Driver's License: A Valid Driver's License Is A Must For A Fleet Technician Job At State Of Utah. This Is Necessary To Operate And Test Drive Vehicles, As Well As To Transport Them To Different Locations For Repairs.

  • Physical Fitness: The Job Of A Fleet Technician Involves Physical Activities, Such As Lifting Heavy Equipment, Standing For Long Periods, And Working In Tight Spaces. Therefore, Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform These Tasks Without Any Limitations.
